Part-Day Head Start: Classes are 3 1/2 hours, either in the morning or in the afternoon. The children attend Tuesday through Friday from mid-September through May. Early Head Start Center-Based, all-day classrooms are available. To qualify, families need to qualify for the Illinois Childcare Subsidy through the YWCA, which means that parents must be working or in school during normal operating hours. The classrooms are open from 7:00am-6:00pm Monday through Friday. Families receive regular home visits throughout the year, are invited to monthly parent meetings, and have daily contact with their child's teachers.
